My Why: the vision behind MetaboliCo
My journey began with learning how medicines work, first as a pharmacy student, then as an academic researcher, and later as a science communicator in the Pharma and MedTech industries. Along the way, I also came to recognise the substantial limitations of medicines when used to treat chronic conditions.
While medicines are often important and necessary to manage symptoms, addressing the root cause of chronic metabolic conditions requires a different approach.
Driven by curiosity, I became deeply interested in the science of metabolic health and fascinated by the transformative impact that nutrition and lifestyle can have on long-term health and performance.
At the same time, I also became deeply concerned about the lack of implementation of nutrition and lifestyle interventions in medical practice.
I believe that healthcare practitioners should have the knowledge and tools to include metabolic interventions in their practice and offer them as an option to their patients.
I also believe that everyone should be empowered with the knowledge and tools to make science-based decisions about their own health, and if needed even to challenge the recommendations of healthcare practitioners who follow outdated guidelines.
For these reasons, I decided to focus my work on closing this knowledge gap. My mission is to bridge metabolic science and metabolic health through science communication, product consulting, education, and coaching.
